Two passions: walking with nature and photography

Growing up in Zimbabwe, my passion for African wildlife started from a very young age and as I grew older, so did my passion. I became a Professional Guide, so spent most of my time amongst the magnificent animals, watching them for hours at a time. It was during this period of my life that I began to realise I had another passion; photography. Watching my clients taking hundreds of pictures made me decide to pick up a camera and capture the moments I was privileged enough to witness on film. My ambition has always been to protect the wildlife and the National Parks in which they live, and was the reason I became a guide in the first place. They are supposed to be protected by law, but more often than not, the law is not enough. I retired from guiding but continue to help this cause, and hope to raise awareness through my photography and the talks I provide.

I currently live in Wales, where I am the Secretary of the North Wales Photographic Association (NWPA). I am a multi-award-winning photographer, I have attained the Distinction level of the Photographic Alliance of Great Britain (DPAGB) and achieved a BA Honours in Photography from The International Photography Institute. My images have featured in many international, national and local photographic exhibitions, as well as winning a multitude of national and international awards. I have had images shortlisted in the African Photographer of the Year and Best of Africa Photographer via Facebook.

I am a judge and have been judging for the past 10 years at clubs across the UK. I also present on photography and my experiences in Africa, allowing me to share my knowledge of both photography and nature with photographers of all levels.
